Day 36 of 84: What’s So Free About Free Day Anyways?

Yesterday I took my very first free day since I started this challenge. That’s right, my FIRST one.

I ate Pizza, and cake frosting, and potato salad, and banana pudding.(along with several clean meals as well)

My stats for yesterday were NIGHTMARISH. 2688 Calories, 84Grams of Fat, 353 Carbs, 134 Protein Grams, and 53 grams of Fiber. I stopped counting sodium at around 4000 mg.

Today I feel AWFUL, and SWOLLEN. UGH.

I will NEVER do that again. There’s something to be said for clean eating. Really. I have felt WONDERFUL these whole past 5 weeks until today. I feel swollen, sluggish, and downright SICK because of what I ate yesterday. I didn’t DARE get on the scale today..because I KNEW I would completely freak out.

The funny thing is that before this challenge, that’s the way I ate EVERY DAY and on top of that I smoked, and drank.

Today I got right back to my clean eating, and had a really kickass lower body workout. I have dropped 3 days of Cardio off of my program so now instead of doing 6 days of cardio I’m only doing 3 HIIT sessions, and 3 days of weights. (just as it’s written in the book.) I figure if the program is written a certain way that’s the way I should follow it. Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke..

So there you have it.

There’s a hurricane in the gulf of Mexico. I am not far from where it will be coming on land so I might not post an update for a couple of days if we lose power. Just letting you guys know ahead of time. Year before last when Rita came in we were without power in over a hundred degree temps for 6 days. I’m hoping it’s not that bad this time but I am well prepared in advance just in case.

Even if we don’t have power I’ll still be able to work out. My legs dont’ require electricity to run intervals outdoors, and the dumbells I have can be lifted without electricity..LOL.  I’ll still be able to eat clean too. I’ve prepared two days worth of meals in tupperware for myself in a cooler and am well stocked up on RTD shakes and bars. YAY ME!!

I’ll update via mobile phone(because I can do that) if we lose power and let you all know.

  1. If it makes you feel better, or just gives some perspective: I use my free day to have a free meal, and a dessert, if my weight loss goals aren’t particularly important at that time. If I’m really focused on losing, I’ll take just the free meal. The meal is never junk food, just a good chicken, fish or some other resteraunt meal. And my cals for free day are usually 2300-2500. I think the way I take the free day is pretty conservative, no all day binges or free eating for me. I don’t know if that helps, but once you see those numbers regularly, it wont’ be as scary. (but I always have that “oh, jeez!” moment when I enter it in dietpower!). Zoey
