Day 30 of 84: I Am AMAZED…
Why you ask?
Well…For several reasons actually.
1. This is the LONGEST Ever that I have stuck with a program and STAYED excited about it.
Seriously folks…from day ONE of Body For Life I have been HOOKED!
What other weight loss program can you follow and EAT THIS MUCH!! None I have ever tried. I practically STARVED to death on Weight Watchers. I nearly shut down my kidneys on Atkins. (That diet was a NIGHTMARE for me. A constant state of Ketosis is NOT healthy!) Every other plan I have attempted to follow was designed for failure. Why? Because it’s IMPOSSIBLE to stick with for LIFE.
Body For Life is DIFFERENT. I could happily eat this way the rest of my life. I am NEVER hungry, and this far into it the cravings have practically stopped too for foods that aren’t healthy. Sure I would LOVE to have a piece of chocolate cake, but at this point I am so focused on my goals that it’s not even an option. (and besides I could have it if I REALLY wanted it that bad on my “free” day.) I also have learned from eating “clean” that when I eat something “dirty” it usually makes me feel pretty bad. Feeling bad is not conducive to exercise, so I don’t do it.
The exercise aspect of this program has been phenomenal for me. My energy levels before I started were NIL. I had trouble getting out of bed in the morning without massive amounts of coffee. Today, I hop out of bed when the alarm goes off and go and RUN! I attribute this energy boost to BOTH the nutrition aspect, AND the exercise. Energy Begets Energy. That saying is SO true!
2. I have never reaped the results I have gotten from Body For Life this FAST from any other program. When I followed Weight Watchers the weight loss was PAINFULLY SLOW. We’re talking a half a pound a week if I was LUCKY. I have averaged nearly 5 pounds a week with Body For Life. Now don’t get me wrong, from what I understand this is NOT typical. I don’t know what I’m doing so right honestly to make the fat melt off so fast, but whatever it is I’m not changing ANYTHING for fear of slowing it down..(Realistically though I know it WILL slow down at some point as I get closer to my goal and I will have to work harder to get the last bit off.)
I eat exactly what’s on the What I Eat page. I follow the exercise program exactly as laid out in the book with the exception that my cardio is all done on the C25K program and I do the C25K program all 6 days out of the week instead of just 3. That’s all folks. No magic here..just sweat and dedication. For me it’s almost TOO EASY to be honest.
3. The outpouring of support and praise here on this blog has been amazing. I never expected this to get so much attention. All I did was post the link in a few emails I sent out and now my site gets about 300-400 hits a day. A LOT of people have been emailing me asking me what I’m doing to get such amazing results, and all I can say is I’m following Body For Life. I’m doing it just like everyone else. There’s no magic pills, potions, or smoke and mirrors here. I’m eating clean, and working my butt off. Literally.
Someone in one of th Yahoo Groups I’m in said that my results were “Championlike”. That totally made my heart soar. I actually did enter the competition for the 25,000.00. I never expected in a MILLION years that I would actually have a chance in hell at winning. To be honest, I never thought I would make it this far in. I have made it this far though, and due to the progress, and support I am receiving here I plan to go all the way baby.
Those of you who are coming here and supporting me are one of the reasons I’m doing this. I HAVE to do my best now, can’t let you down can I?
If you are following Body For Life and NOT getting the same results as I am PLEASE keep at it. I’ve read about this wonderful thing called the 8 Week Miracle. If you are experiencing SLOW results PLEASE read this. I think it’s terribly motivating and inspiring.
I also wanted to share a tool I use on my computer that I think might be particularly motivating. I am a big “quotes” person. So when I found an automatic desktop changer that displays a different motivational quote every day and a beautiful picture I had to have it. And best of all it’s FREE! You can get it HERE.
Here is the quote it gave me for today, which I LOVE:
You control your future, your destiny.
What you think about, comes about.
By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be.
Put your future in good hands…Your own.
–Mark Victor Hansen
Isn’t that AWESOME!! It’s also SO TRUE!! I have my goals on index cards in my bathroom, and every morning I read them after I brush my teeth. (silly I know but it keeps them fresh in my mind.)
I really hope that the stuff I write here really does help someone who is thinking about doing this program, or doing this program. It’s my goal to share my success with ANYONE who will listen. To be honest a lot of my friends are getting pretty sick of hearing about it so I’ve gotta tell SOMEONE!!
Ok– On to today’s workout.
Today was C25K training- I started the week two podcast yesterday. The running intervals are longer and so are the recovery intervals. Yesterday by the last interval I was ready to DIE. Today not so much. I count that as PROGRESS! WOO HOO! I did have to stop halfway to get a bandaid for a blister I rubbed but I slapped it on and got right back to it. (Note to self: wear REAL socks with the running shoes, not the little bitty no-show ones that slip down inside the shoe.)
Ok folks…I’m back to real life again. Stay sexy people!!
