Day 22 of 84: Lower Body Workout AND Incline Training on the Dreadmill…

I decided last week that instead of doing just weights on weight training days I would add in a little cardio either before or after the workout. Today I did it afterwards.

I’ve been doing Incline Training on the Treadmill for about two weeks. My treadmill goes up to 14% incline. So I set it at 2.5 miles per hour and walk a mile at 14% incline. This is harder than it sounds and you really FEEL it in your calves and the back of your legs. (I think it’s really helping to lift my sagging glutes a little.) Then I cool off and I’m done.

Today’s lower body workout was good. I did some really heavy Deadlifts and I KNOW I’m gonna feel those tomorrow. It was also the first day I’ve been able to really work the abs in weeks since my injury in week one. (I pulled an abdominal muscle on the left lower side and it took WEEKS for it to stop causing me excruciating pain just to roll over in bed.) I’ve got a decline ab bench so I do my crunches at a decline.(head lower than legs.) My oldest son calls them bat hangs..LOL.  This is probably what injured my abdominals as I did decline bat hang crunches on my first lower body workout with a 10 pound medicine ball on my chest. I guess you gotta work up to that..

At the end of this week I’ll be taking new progress pics to post. I’m really excited about that because I see HUGE changes in my body already. I am amazed more and more every day with how my clothes are fitting. I’ve been able to pull out stuff I haven’t been able to wear in years and fit into it.

Tomorrow is the official start of my C25K Training. I’m doing this in place of my HIIT.(High Intensity Interval training) Mainly because it IS HIIT in my book.

I’m off to drink my protein and start the day. I may post more later.

Peace!

One Response to “Day 22 of 84: Lower Body Workout AND Incline Training on the Dreadmill…”

  1. Careful with the injuries. I messed up two BFL challenges with injuries and it is one of my main goals to finish without injury. I am 40 now and injury seems to come easier and easier each year. I wrote a whole post on my blog on how I am trying to avoid injury to try and say it all out loud and convince myself to be careful and do what I know I am supposed to.

I am only in week two and it is great to read about success stories like yours.

BTW, you have a beautiful site and I love your blog’s title.

    Good luck!

    Marc
